General Questions

Are there admission or parking fees?

Admission to The Omni Grove Park Inn and Gallery of the Mountains is always free. However, there are parking fees at the resort during peak months. From January 3 through March 30, day parking is complimentary for your first 3 hours. From March 31 through September 30, only 1 hour of day parking is complimentary. After that, 1-3 hours is $10, 3-6 hours is $20, and 6-24 hours is $25. During the fall and holiday season, October 1 – January 2, there is no complimentary parking on the property. Self-parking for day guests is $25, and $20 for overnight guests. A portion of the parking proceeds is donated to 15 local non-profit organizations.

There are two parking garages. We recommend parking in the Sammons Garage, the closest garage to the Gallery of the Mountains. Visit The Omni Grove Park Inn’s website to learn more about these parking policies.

Is all the artwork in the gallery locally made?
Frequently Asked Questions for Gallery of the Mountains McNeills Pottery Studio

No, but nearly! While most of what we carry is handmade in the Asheville area, we also offer regional works of art predominantly by southern Appalachian makers.

Is photography allowed?

Photography in the gallery is welcome for non-commercial use. Out of respect to other guests, tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted.

Is your gallery wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Our gallery entrance and aisles have a 3-ft clearance width for continuous passage, and wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are across the hall from our gallery. The Omni Grove Park Inn also offers handicapped parking near the elevators in both parking garages.

Is Gallery of the Mountains dog-friendly?

While we welcome all leashed and well-behaved four-legged friends, The Omni Grove Park Inn requests that all pets be registered with the resort. Service animals are always permitted for guests with disabilities.

How can artists submit work for consideration?
Frequently Asked Questions for Gallery of the Mountains in The Grove Park Inn - Glass Work

We welcome submissions from artists and craftspeople working in the Southern Appalachian region.

Please email us with “Artist Submission” in the subject line. Include a brief bio and five to seven images that are representative of your current body of work, along with media, dimensions, and pricing. If you have a website or Etsy page, please include a link. Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we only respond if we feel there is potential to work together. No phone calls, please.

Customer Service Questions

Do you ship?

Yes. We gladly offer domestic shipping options through USPS and UPS (no international shipping). Just provide us with your mailing address, and we’ll get you a quote.

Do you offer curbside pickup?

Yes. We’ll process your credit or debit card payment over the phone and hand deliver your items to your vehicle. Curbside pickups are delivered outside the sliding glass doors of the Sammons Wing, just past the valet car services at the front of The Omni Grove Park Inn. Please note that this offer depends on staff availability, especially during the fall and holiday seasons when we attract a high volume of guests.

What is your return policy?

We stand by the quality of our handmade items. If unsatisfied with your purchase, you may return it to us within 14 days of receipt for a refund, minus any shipping charges. Note that shipping charges will be at the customer’s expense if not making an in-store return. We recommend insuring return shipments for their total retail value to protect against loss or shipping damage. Gallery of the Mountains is not responsible for any broken or damaged items shipped by the customer.

Can I place a custom order with an artist?

Inquiries are welcome! Not all of our artists offer custom work or accept commissions, but some do, so it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Grove Park Inn Questions

Where in The Grove Park Inn are you located?

When you step into the Great Hall (lobby) from the main front entrance of the Inn, there will be a hallway on your left. Follow this hallway to enter the retail promenade, which includes three shops. We are the last shop on your left, next door to NOC’s Basecamp Asheville.

Do I have to be staying at The Grove Park Inn to visit your gallery?

No. The public is always welcome! Many guests use the “Hop-On/Hop-Off” Gray Line Trolley Tours to visit our gallery and other local attractions.

Is Gallery of the Mountains owned by The Omni Grove Park Inn?

No. The Blomberg/Patton family of Asheville owns Gallery of the Mountains and leases the retail space from The Omni Grove Park Inn. They also own the historic Grovewood Village complex across the street from the resort’s Vanderbilt Wing. Gallery of the Mountains has a sister shop, Grovewood Gallery, located within this complex.

Do you sell Grove Park Inn merchandise?

While we sell a handful of artisan-made Grove Park Inn mementos, our primary focus is on fine American craft from the southern Appalachian region.

May I tour The Grove Park Inn after visiting your gallery?

Yes. We encourage you to explore and learn more about our historic site. If you are interested in taking a self-guided audio history tour, visit the Concierge Desk in the Great Hall (lobby).

Is there an on-site restaurant?

Yes. There are multiple restaurants to choose from inside The Omni Grove Park Inn, and we are just a few steps away from EDISON, Craft Ales + Kitchen. Visit the resort’s website to learn more about their dining options and to make a reservation. Just a short walk across the street from the resort’s Vanderbilt Wing is Eldr Restaurant. Opened in 2022, Eldr features new American cuisine focusing on an ingredients-driven menu, natural wine, craft coffee and cocktails. Check their website for hours and to make a reservation: eldravl.com.
