FULL BLOWN GLASS

Brent Earnest of Full Blown Glass creates functional hand-blown and flamework glass art out of his home studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC. A friend introduced him to the medium in 2001 after earning his culinary arts degree from Johnson & Whales University. While he pursued his culinary passion, glass-blowing became his favorite hobby.

In 2004, a new job opportunity moved Brent to St. Petersburg, FL, where he met his partner, Heather. With his creativity, her retail buying background, and their entrepreneurial spirit,  they decided on a whim to get a booth at the local art market. In less than a year, they were selling their glass wares online, and by 2008, the business was successful enough for Brent to transition to working as a full-time artist.

Having a strong appreciation for nature and all its inhabitants, Brent strives to incorporate eco-conscious practices into his production whenever possible. He uses recycled packaging materials and creates the oxygen used to power his 2,000+ degree torch.

Full Blown Glass (FBG) is characterized by precision, clean lines, and vivid colors. Oh, and they’re octopus obsessed! Brent had his first octopus encounter while camping in Key West when one of these curious creatures followed him in and out of the water. He instantly fell in love, and the preoccupation began. The octopus is now their signature motif and adorns many of their glass Critter Straws, ornaments, terrariums, and shot glasses.

Each FBG piece is individually handmade and completely unique.
